Privacy Services

Deanne Myers offers a wide range of privacy and personal information management services. This can be on an ongoing basis or individual engagements as required.

Services include:

  • Privacy impact assessments
  • Training
  • Privacy maturity assessments and assistance with development
  • Risk assessment and mitigation
  • Development of privacy policies and processes
  • Design of privacy strategy, including detailed roadmaps for implementation
  • Breach and incident response design and assessment
  • Privacy framework and programme development
  • Compliance auditing (including compliance with the Privacy Act and related Codes).

Deanne started working in privacy as part of the Independent Review into ACC’s privacy practices following a major breach in 2012. She then managed the development and pilot process for the Government Chief Privacy Officer’s Privacy Maturity Assessment Framework (PMAF).  She has applied the PMAF at a wide range of government agencies, ranging from very large to very small agencies with varying privacy risk, challenges and experiences.

Deanne has also managed and delivered methodologies for privacy maturity assessment and privacy risk assessment for high-risk agencies, privacy impact assessments, ‘Privacy 101’ training, privacy policy and procedures, breach response design and assessment, and privacy framework development.

Prior to becoming an independent contractor in June 2018 Deanne was the privacy service line manager for KPMG New Zealand.

She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (Australia and New Zealand) and until recently was a member of the New Zealand sub-committee of the iappANZ.

She also provides Internal Audit and Assurance services.
